The last blocks of the order delivered to Finland

“Baltija” Shipbuilding Yard has successfully completed an important order for STX Finland OY Cruise (ex “Aker Yards”). The project implementation took more than a year. Under this order “Baltija” Shipbuilding Yard has produced steel blocks for the world’s largest cruise ships “Genesis”. “Baltija” Shipbuilding Yard has completed an important order for STX Finland OY Cruise. The project has been implemented for over a year. In 2007 the Companies concluded three contracts according to which steel blocks were produced for the world’s largest cruise ships “Genesis 1” and “Genesis 2” and also for a passenger ferry “Tallink”. The total amount of blocks produced under the order for STX Finland OY Cruise makes 4600 tons. The cooperation between the companies was marked by presenting the Finnish colleagues with a sculpture of Vytautas Karčiauskas “Success”. Satisfied with effective and good work made by “Baltija” the Finnish colleagues awarded a bonus at several tens thousand euros. The money was used to improve the working conditions and safety in the yard. A part of the bonus was spent to make a film on work safety issues. |
