Grievous bereavement…. |
|
Having started his work as a foreman assistant he confidently rose in the career and became the head of the pipeline workshop No5. In 1994, when free market relations appeared, he changed his production activity to marketing. It was a difficult time, as the Yard destiny was fully dependent on the marketing service Mr. Boyko was a head of. It was the time, when he recommended not only himself as trustworthy person, but also “Baltijos” Shipyard as the safe shipbuilding partner.
He made great efforts to unite “Baltija” and Odense Shipyards. He became a connecting link, a pivot in relationship between Lithuanian and Danish enterprises. Owing to his efforts there were concluded the first contracts for building of turn-key tugboats, fabrication of superstructures and blocks intended for container ships.
Energy, sense of purpose, the wish to stand first and best and to create the competitive company led him in 2000 to the position of Technical Director. He always looked forward, invented something new. He introduced robot-manned and mechanized lines in the Yard. Mr. Boyko valued the past as well. Under his initiative for the first time in the Yard history the museum was established.
He went far due to his persistence, diligence, care and respect for people. He was the excellent Teacher. Like no other he could pass on experience and inspire with optimism his friends and colleagues.
The memory of this Man will remain in our hearts forever.
