Triple namegiving

On the 15th of May, 2004 a solemn namegiving ceremony took place at Baltija. The names were given to the first three tugs in the series of ten:
- L704 – SVITZER MARS,
- L705 – SVITZER MILFORD,
- L706 – SVITZER MJØLNER.
Guests from Lithuania, Denmark and other countries came to the Yard. Baltija was visited by the Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas, the General Director of Odense Steel Shipyard Ltd. John Skov Hansen, the supreme leaders of Svitzer Wijsmuller (the shipowner).
Mrs. Kristina Brazauskiene became the godmother of the first tug. On the second tug whose godmother is Mrs. Claire Brown the outfitting works are going on and she is being prepared for the sea trials. The third one – her godmother is Mrs. Susanne Fournais – is getting ready for launching.
On the 16th of May, 2004 SVITZER MARS left Baltija for Denmark where the bollard pull test will be performed. After the last trial that is on the 18th of May she will start operating.
