The cooperation between Baltija Shipbuilding Yard and a well-known Hamburg shipyard Blohm+Voss started 10 years ago. In 2002 it was continued by a new order. After the summer holidays Baltija received the offer to build 23 sections of underwater sponsons and a stern for modernization of the cruise ship Princesse Ragnhild. The total weight amounted to 350 tns.
Engineering design was ordered in a local company Baltic Engineering Centre. All sections were curved and made on pin-jigs only. On the 22nd December 2002 they were delivered and loaded on the pontoon. The towage contract was signed by the Yard with a well-known Hamburg company Harms Bergung. On the 26th December 2002 sections were unloaded in Hamburg. In January-February 2003 sections were installed on the cruise ship. Both B+V Repair and the customer Color Line were satisfied. | Sponsons for cruise ship | Sponsons for cruise ship |
